About this consent
Your child's school is using or piloting nilo, a financial-confidence and financial-literacy education platform.
Before your child's personal information is used for the relevant nilo learning experience, we want you to understand what information may be used, why it is needed and what choices you have.
Student Information That May Be Used
Depending on the school's setup, nilo may process limited information such as:
- Student name
- School
- Grade
- Class or section
- Student or school identifier
- Learning modules assigned
- Module completion
- Quiz answers and scores
- Assessment results
- Mission or activity completion
- Certificates and badges
- Learning progress
nilo does not require your child to provide bank details, card information, UPI PINs, OTPs, PAN details, Aadhaar numbers, investment credentials or private family financial documents.
Why This Information Is Used
Student information may be used to:
- Create and manage the student's authorised learning account
- Provide age-appropriate financial education
- Assign learning modules
- Record progress
- Conduct quizzes and assessments
- Issue certificates
- Help authorised teachers understand student progress
- Produce authorised class or school reports
- Measure learning outcomes
- Protect the security and safety of the platform
Who May See the Information
Depending on the school's implementation, relevant information may be available to:
- Your child
- Authorised teachers
- Authorised school administrators
- You as the verified parent or guardian, where parent access is enabled
- nilo personnel and approved service providers who require access to operate and protect the Service
Student information is not intended to be sold to advertisers or used for targeted advertising to children.
Educational Purpose
nilo teaches practical financial concepts.
It does not provide your child with personalised:
- Investment advice
- Trading advice
- Loan recommendations
- Insurance recommendations
- Financial-product recommendations
Students are not required to connect bank or investment accounts.
Photographs and Marketing
Consent for normal educational participation does not automatically include consent for public marketing use of your child's photograph, video, voice or testimonial.
Where nilo or the school wishes to use identifiable student media publicly, separate permission should be obtained.
AI Features
If AI-supported educational features are introduced, additional information may be provided about how those features operate.
Students will be instructed not to enter passwords, OTPs, bank details, identity documents or private family financial information into AI tools.
Withdrawal
Where participation depends upon your consent, you may withdraw that consent by contacting the school or nilo.
Withdrawal may mean that your child can no longer use some nilo features.
Information that must be retained for legal, security or legitimate recordkeeping reasons may be retained to the extent permitted or required by law.
Parent / Guardian Declaration
By providing consent through the authorised nilo or school consent process, I confirm that:
- I am the student's parent, lawful guardian or otherwise legally authorised to provide this consent.
- I am an adult and will complete any legally required verification process.
- I have read the relevant nilo privacy information.
- I understand the categories of student information described above.
- I understand why the information is being processed.
- I consent to the student's participation and the processing necessary to provide the authorised nilo educational program, subject to my rights under applicable law.
Separate Optional Permission
Any consent for identifiable photographs, videos, testimonials, promotional materials or other optional purposes must be requested separately and must not be bundled into the mandatory educational consent above.
