Clear terms for a safe learning environment.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the websites, student learning platform, teacher dashboard, school-administrator dashboard, parent features, educational materials, assessments, certificates, workshops, pilots and related services provided by Nilofin Technologies Pvt Ltd, operating under the brand name nilo ("nilo", "we", "us" or "our").
Please read these Terms together with our Privacy Policy.
1. About nilo
nilo is a financial-confidence and financial-literacy education platform.
Our educational content may cover topics including:
- What money is
- Needs and wants
- Saving
- Spending
- Pocket money
- Budgeting
- Banks
- Sources of income
- Consumer awareness
- Digital-payment safety
- Scam awareness
- Responsible money decisions
- Financial habits
- Future financial readiness
Content may be delivered through:
- Lessons
- Stories
- Activities
- Quizzes
- Assessments
- Missions
- Reflections
- Workbooks
- Comics
- Videos
- Teacher resources
- Progress dashboards

2. nilo Does Not Provide Financial Advice
nilo provides education and general information.
nilo is not:
- A bank
- An NBFC
- An investment adviser
- A stockbroker
- A portfolio manager
- A mutual-fund distributor
- An insurer
- An insurance adviser
- A payment service
- A loan provider
- A credit-rating service
- A trading platform
- A financial-product marketplace
Unless expressly introduced through a separately regulated service in the future, nilo does not provide personalised:
- Investment recommendations
- Stock recommendations
- Mutual-fund recommendations
- Trading calls
- Loan recommendations
- Insurance recommendations
- Tax advice
- Legal advice
- Credit advice
- Personal financial advice
Educational examples should not be treated as recommendations to buy, sell or use a particular financial product.
3. Adults, Schools and Student Users
3.1 Adults
An adult accepting these Terms confirms that they have legal capacity to do so.
3.2 School Representatives
If you accept an agreement or use nilo on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm that you have appropriate authority to act on behalf of that organisation.
3.3 Students Under 18
Students under 18 may use authorised nilo educational services.
However, a child is not required to independently enter into a binding commercial contract with Nilofin Technologies Pvt Ltd merely to participate in a school-authorised learning program.
Where contractual acceptance, payment, consent or another adult authorisation is required, it must be provided by an appropriately authorised:
- Parent
- Legal guardian
- School
- School representative
- Other legally competent person
as applicable.
Student use remains subject to the safety and acceptable-use requirements in these Terms.
4. Parent and Guardian Authorisation
Where parental or guardian authorisation or consent is legally required, the parent or guardian must:
- Review relevant information
- Provide accurate details
- Confirm their relationship or lawful authority where required
- Follow any legally required verification process
- Inform nilo or the school if consent is withdrawn
- Help the student understand appropriate online behaviour
Parents should promptly notify nilo or the school if they believe their child's account has been used without proper permission.
5. School Responsibilities
A school using nilo must:
- Have appropriate authority to participate
- Provide accurate school information
- Ensure that only authorised staff receive administrative access
- Provide required notices to parents where applicable
- Obtain or facilitate required permissions or consents where the school is responsible for doing so
- Avoid providing unnecessary student personal data
- Promptly remove access for staff or students who are no longer authorised
- Use student reports only for legitimate educational and administrative purposes
- Protect information downloaded from nilo
- Notify nilo about suspected unauthorised access
- Follow applicable child-safety requirements
A school must not represent that it has parental authority where it does not.
A school's contractual responsibilities do not remove Nilofin Technologies Pvt Ltd's independent obligations under applicable law.
6. School Agreements
School pilots, subscriptions, licences, implementation arrangements and other institutional services may be governed by a separate:
- Proposal
- Pilot agreement
- Order form
- Data-processing agreement
- Service agreement
- Statement of work
- Invoice
- Written contract
Where a duly executed school agreement conflicts with these general Terms on a matter specifically addressed by that school agreement, the school agreement will govern that institutional relationship to the extent of the conflict.
7. Accounts and Access
Some Services may use:
- School codes
- Student identifiers
- Usernames
- PINs
- Passwords
- OTPs
- School emails
- Parent-linked accounts
- Other approved authentication mechanisms
Users must:
- Use only authorised accounts
- Keep credentials confidential
- Not share passwords, PINs or OTPs
- Not impersonate another person
- Not access another student's information
- Not access another school's information
- Promptly report suspected compromise
nilo may reset, restrict or suspend credentials where necessary to protect users or the platform.
8. Student Safety Rules
Students must never submit or upload:
- Bank-account details
- Debit-card information
- Credit-card information
- CVV numbers
- UPI PINs
- ATM PINs
- OTPs
- Passwords
- Aadhaar numbers
- PAN details
- Demat credentials
- Investment-account credentials
- Parent banking credentials
- Private family financial documents
- Government identity documents
- Other people's confidential information
Students should ask a teacher, parent or guardian for help if they are unsure whether information is safe to share.
9. Acceptable Use
Users must not use nilo to:
- Violate applicable law
- Bully or harass another person
- Threaten another person
- Share discriminatory or abusive content
- Share sexually explicit material
- Exploit or endanger a child
- Upload malicious software
- Attempt unauthorised system access
- Circumvent account controls
- Scrape restricted student information
- Collect other users' personal information without authority
- Share another person's login credentials
- Commit fraud
- Manipulate assessment or certificate records
- Promote gambling or betting
- Promote trading schemes to students
- Solicit students for financial products
- Advertise unauthorised products
- Distribute illegal content
- Upload content that infringes intellectual-property rights
- Disrupt nilo's infrastructure
10. Bullying, Abuse and Child-Safety Concerns
nilo has zero tolerance for the use of its Services to facilitate:
- Sexual exploitation of children
- Grooming
- Sexual harassment
- Child sexual abuse material
- Threats of violence
- Severe bullying
- Blackmail
- Coercion
- Exploitation
Where nilo becomes aware of circumstances requiring action under applicable child-protection law, nilo may preserve relevant information, restrict access and make legally required reports to competent authorities.
A student should contact a trusted parent, guardian, teacher or appropriate local authority where immediate safety is at risk.
nilo is not an emergency-response service.
11. Teacher and School Dashboards
Authorised teachers may be able to see information such as:
- Assigned students
- Grade
- Class
- Module assignments
- Lesson progress
- Completion
- Quiz results
- Assessments
- Certificates
Authorised school administrators may receive appropriate school-level or class-level reporting.
Access must be used only for authorised educational, administrative, safeguarding or reporting purposes.
Dashboard information must not be publicly posted or commercially exploited.
12. Parent Access
Where parent features are enabled, an authorised parent or guardian may receive appropriate information about their own child, such as:
- Learning progress
- Completion
- Quiz performance
- Certificates
- Suggested home activities
A parent must not attempt to access another child's records.
nilo may require verification before granting or changing parent access.
13. Assessments and Learning Results
nilo may provide:
- Pre-assessments
- Post-assessments
- Quizzes
- Activities
- Missions
- Progress indicators
- Badges
- Certificates
These are intended primarily to support financial education.
Unless separately adopted by a school as part of its own academic system, nilo scores and certificates are not:
- Statutory academic qualifications
- Professional licences
- Financial qualifications
- Credit scores
- Investment certifications
- Government certificates
- Regulatory approvals
A nilo certificate normally confirms completion of specified nilo learning requirements.
14. No Guaranteed Educational or Financial Outcome
nilo aims to improve learning experiences, but we do not guarantee that using nilo will:
- Increase school examination marks
- Guarantee financial success
- Prevent every future financial mistake
- Create wealth
- Guarantee employment
- Guarantee admission
- Produce a specific learning improvement percentage
Any published impact statistics should be based on genuine evidence and appropriate methodology.
15. Student Challenges and Leaderboards
Where nilo offers competitions, streaks, challenges or leaderboards, they must be used in accordance with the applicable school setup and privacy controls.
nilo may use privacy-preserving displays such as:
- Class totals
- School totals
- First name
- Initials
- Avatar
- Pseudonym
Identifiable student performance should not be publicly displayed without appropriate permission.
Challenges should reward learning and participation and must not encourage gambling, wagering or the use of real money.
16. AI-Supported Features
nilo may introduce AI-supported educational capabilities.
AI may assist with:
- Concept explanations
- Questions
- Summaries
- Reflection prompts
- Educational guidance
AI-generated outputs may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect.
AI output should therefore not be treated as:
- Financial advice
- Investment advice
- Trading advice
- Medical advice
- Legal advice
- Tax advice
- Emergency guidance
Students must not provide financial credentials, identity documents, passwords, OTPs or confidential family information through AI features.
nilo may restrict or moderate AI interactions where reasonably necessary to protect students or the platform.
17. User-Submitted Content
Users may submit content such as:
- Quiz responses
- Reflections
- Missions
- Notes
- Questions
- Feedback
- Assignments
Users retain their rights in content they lawfully create.
By submitting content, the user or authorised adult permits nilo to process that content to the extent reasonably necessary to:
- Deliver the relevant Service
- Store learning records
- Provide authorised school reporting
- Provide technical support
- Maintain safety and security
nilo may use appropriately anonymised or aggregated insights to improve educational content and Services.
Identifiable student content should not be used for public advertising without separate appropriate permission.
18. Student Photos, Videos and Testimonials
Participation in nilo learning does not automatically give nilo the right to use a child's identifiable photograph, video, voice or testimonial for marketing.
Promotional use of identifiable student media should be subject to separate appropriate permission.
Refusal to provide promotional-media permission should not prevent ordinary student participation in the educational program.
19. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, nilo's proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to Nilofin Technologies Pvt Ltd.
These may include:
- nilo branding
- Logos
- Designs
- Software
- User interfaces
- Lessons
- Stories
- Comics
- Videos
- Quizzes
- Missions
- Workbooks
- Teacher materials
- Assessment structures
- Certificates
- Reports
- Illustrations
- Written content
Users may use these materials only for personal educational use or authorised school use.
No user may, without appropriate written permission:
- Resell nilo content
- Commercially redistribute nilo content
- Remove copyright notices
- Republish substantial portions of protected material
- Create unauthorised commercial copies
- Use nilo branding in a misleading manner
- Falsely claim a partnership with nilo
20. School Licensing
A school licence does not transfer ownership of nilo's intellectual property to the school.
Schools receive only the rights stated in their relevant licence, pilot or service agreement.
Licence access may be limited by:
- School
- Grade
- Class
- Number of users
- Program duration
- Content package
- Subscription term
21. Free Pilots and Beta Services
nilo may provide:
- School pilots
- Demonstrations
- Trials
- Early-access features
- Beta features
Pilot or beta functionality may change.
Unless a school agreement states otherwise, nilo may modify, pause or discontinue a pilot or beta feature where reasonably necessary.
We will endeavour to communicate material changes affecting an active school program.
22. Fees and Payments
Some nilo Services may be free and others may be paid.
Paid offerings may eventually include:
- School licences
- Learning programs
- Workbooks
- Teacher training
- Workshops
- Family services
- Other educational products
Pricing and applicable taxes should be shown before a consumer purchase or stated in the relevant school agreement.
Where applicable, cancellation, refund and payment terms will be made available before purchase.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable Indian consumer-protection law.
23. Third-Party Services
nilo may depend upon or link to services provided by third parties.
Examples may include:
- Hosting providers
- Authentication providers
- Payment providers
- Communication services
- AI providers
- School platforms
- External educational resources
Third-party products may have their own terms and privacy policies.
Where nilo merely provides an external link, nilo does not control the third party's independent content or services.
24. Service Availability
We aim to maintain reliable Services but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
Services may occasionally be affected by:
- Maintenance
- Internet outages
- Security incidents
- Third-party outages
- Software errors
- Infrastructure failures
- Legal requirements
- Events outside reasonable control
We may make reasonable changes to improve or secure the Services.
25. Suspension and Termination
Access may be restricted or suspended where reasonably necessary because:
- These Terms have been materially violated
- There is a security risk
- There is suspected unauthorised access
- A student-safety concern exists
- A school relationship has ended
- An account is no longer authorised
- Payment remains due under an applicable agreement
- Applicable law requires action
Where appropriate, nilo may work with the school, parent or account holder before permanent account closure.
26. Privacy
Use of nilo is also governed by the nilo Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how Nilofin Technologies Pvt Ltd handles student, parent, teacher, school and website personal data.
Privacy-policy acknowledgement does not automatically constitute consent for every form of personal-data processing.
Where specific consent is legally required, it should be requested separately and appropriately.
27. Security
nilo uses reasonable security practices designed to protect the Services.
Users must also:
- Protect their credentials
- Use authorised devices where required
- Log out from shared devices
- Avoid sharing student records unnecessarily
- Report suspected security issues promptly
No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
28. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an "as available" basis.
nilo does not guarantee that:
- Every feature will always be available
- Every piece of educational content will be error-free
- Every AI-generated response will be correct
- Every student's outcome will be the same
- Use of nilo will create a particular financial result
Nothing in this provision reduces responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
29. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.
In particular, these Terms do not exclude statutory rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded for matters such as fraud or other conduct for which exclusion is not legally permitted.
Commercial liability arrangements with schools or institutional partners may be addressed separately in the applicable signed agreement.
30. Indemnity
Any contractual indemnity applicable to a school, organisation or adult user will operate only to the extent permitted by law.
A child using nilo as a student is not independently required by these Terms to indemnify Nilofin Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Specific institutional indemnities, where appropriate, should be addressed in a school or commercial agreement.
31. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms because of:
- Legal changes
- Product changes
- Safety requirements
- Security changes
- New Services
- School-program changes
We will update the effective date when changes are made.
Where a material change legally requires fresh agreement, authorisation or consent, continued use alone will not replace that requirement.
32. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Subject to mandatory rights available under applicable law, disputes relating to these Terms may be subject to the competent courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
Nothing in these Terms removes any forum, remedy or jurisdiction that a consumer is entitled to use under mandatory consumer-protection law.
33. Resolving Concerns
Before pursuing formal proceedings, adult users, parents and schools are encouraged to contact nilo so that we can attempt to resolve the matter.

34. Entire Relationship
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable school agreement, order form or other written agreement, form the relevant contractual framework for use of the Services.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally permitted.
Failure by nilo to immediately enforce a provision does not automatically waive that provision.
